30 Jun 2008 The symbol for Saturn is thought to be an ancient scythe or sickel. This is a tool that people once used to cut down grains in the field, Bach's symbol for Vesta is a simplified version of other representations of English: Astronomical and astrological symbol for the planet Saturn , and alchemical symbol of lead. Found at Unicode U+2644, renders as ♄. This lower "crescent" portion of the Saturn symbol is also reminiscent of a scythe or sickle . These are of particular interest because the symbolism of the He seems to have been portrayed as an old man with a sickle and a pruning knife in his hands.
